The Five Orbs

In Japan, everything seems normal and peaceful. Everyone lived their lives happily and great, it seemed. Like nothing could go wrong. However, one day, the Five Orbs were stolen and taken away. What are these Five Orbs you ask? Why they are what keeps the balance in Japan. And the world. The Orbs are; Fire, Water, Earth, Wind, and Void. Five villains have stolen them and taken them to different places, all apart from one. The Orb of Void is still in Japan, but you can't get it. Oh no, no, you can't. Why? It will corrupt you in darkness and evil if you so much as try to steal it without the other four Orbs. They keep peace, the very balance. One can't be without the other.

When the Fire Orb was taken, lava, fire, vaccines began to overflow and cause problems. The Water Orb caused the sea levels to run higher than normal, drowning people. The Earth Orb caused earthquakes and the earth to start to break apart. The Wind Orb caused harsh winds, cruel tornadoes, killing many. And the Void Orb corrupted people, turning them against one another, murders and deaths all over. A terrible thing, isn't it?

Now young one, I ask of you. Are you one of the brave heroes that are trying to get the orbs back, or are you one of the villains that have taken them, trying to make sure the 'heroes' don't stop your plans? Or are you your own villain trying to get the orbs for your own evil plans?

The choice is yours. Pick wisely, for the fate of the world depends on which you pick.

Name: Haruka Moto

Age: 15

Appearance: She has fairly curly grey hair and icy blue eyes. Her normal clothes are a white and purple shirt and a pink skirt. She usually also wears blue shoes without socks.

Weapon: Haruka usually uses a rope as her main weapon.

Orb: She doesn't have any orbs.

Personality: Haruka is a very bubbly and cheerful girl of 15. She has been this way since she was a baby. She is also a very distracting person. Haruka will sometimes annoy her friends just for the fun of it. If she starts to get in people's faces, there is no stopping her from it. She also can be very, very irritating. Most people are ignorant of her attempts to annoy them, though.

History: Her father was killed in a factory accident when she was 7. Haruka clearly remembers her mother walking very somberly to her room and crying in there for the rest of the day. She wanted to go after the orbs for the sake of getting them back and bringing the world to order. However, her mother and her 9-year old sister wouldn't let her go after them. Haruka's mom wanted her firstborn to stay home and do chores. Her sister was very bossy and just wanted her to stay home. However, one day Haruka finally got their permission to leave and go for the orbs.

Other: Though she doesn't have any of the orbs, Haruka appears to have taken an interest in the Void Orb... even if that means going crazy after getting it. She also prefers to speak with sky blue colored text.

Name: Niles Decha

Nickname: Teles

Race: Fox

Appearance:  He also wears a brown-stripped scarf like my icon. Ignore the fact that Sonic, he's not from there. XD. Under the scarf, is a gem necklace that homes his guardian, an ancient kitsu that had been trapped within the stone many years ago.

Weapon: Dagger

Orb: None yet.

Personality: Teles is a kind young vulpine. He enjoys helping out others whenever he gets the chance. He’s rather shy and a bit timid at times as well, though he means well. He can be a bit of a coward too, but he means to do the right thing despite it. He has a fear of the dark and storms. He doesn’t like the loud noise of thunder or the bright flash of lightning. He is a bit wary of new people that he’s never met before and it’ll take a bit for you to get him to trust you. He can’t stand bullies or mean people in general as he dealt with those in the past. Once you get to know him enough, he’ll be that friend you’ll have for life, less you do something bad to him. Or his friends. He’s highly protective of friends and family and will do anything to keep them safe. He’s a bit naive and easy to trick and fool if one plays their cards right with him. He doesn’t like dogs or anything that try to hurt foxes. He’s scared to death of ‘em.

History: The little kitsu grew up in Japan in a small town. More like just outside of it. Alone in the forest. He was there from as long as he could remember. No one seemed to want the two-tailed kitsu. So he lived alone in the woods, surviving all on his own from a very young age. While he was out one day stealing some food, he overheard the Shogun speaking to a large bird about something called a Void Orb. Curious, he crept over to the two and listened silently as the two spoke. The bird said there were four other orbs, Fire, Water, Earth, and Wind. They had been taken by four others and scattered all over the world, causing chaos and harm to everyone. Not long after that, an elderly cat creature came up to him and told him that he needed to go off and try to get the orbs and save the world from the evil that was falling over it. He was unsure of how he could even do to help, much less save the world, but Teles agreed to the older animal's wishes and went off to try and get the orbs.

(Hehe.. Here's the first villain.)

Name: Metalbeak

Gender: Female

Age: Unknown. 

Species: Ewl (eagle owl hybrid)

Appearance: A large bluish-gray eagle-like bird with deadly ice blue eyes. She’s big and bulky, yet sleek at the same time. She has two sets of wings, giving her four in total, making her a rather faster flier. Her talons are razor sharp, like knives. They’re powerful enough to slice through the toughest metals and steels out there. Her beak is cracked and scarred from many years of use. It’s also very strong and able to crush her victims with it. However, she prefers to use her talons instead.

Weapon: Talons and beak.

Orb: None.

Personality: Metalbeak is a cruel robotic bird. Her ‘heart’ is as cold as her metal body. She’s mean, sadistic, a killer, and as bad as you could possible think of. She views the world and creatures as her own personal playthings to do with as she sees fit. She wishes to be the greatest thief of all time, but thanks to being horrible injured one day while doing a mission with Kamika, she was unable to. As cruel and heartless as she may be, she likes to give her victims a choice at times: Become her and her gangs’ pet/slave/toy/whatever or face death.

Even with this, she’s not scared to kill her own group if she feels the need to. She’ll kill without a second thought on the matter. She’s killed before and she will again if you cross paths with her or get on her bad side.

She has a robotic voice as she is one of course, but it’s chilling, sending shivers down the spines of those who are unlucky to hear it. She knows this and she loves to use it to strike fear into her victim’s.

History: Little to nothing is known about this evil bird’s past in her early life. What is known is this: Metalbeak grew up in a desert called Charmed Fields back in the olden times, alongside Kamika. Everything seemed to be going well for the young bird. She worked alongside the vulpine to pull off all sorts of missions together. However, that didn’t last very long. While pulling a heist with the young kitsu, she was attacked and heavily injured during it. There was no way she was going to be able to survive.

Yet, luck seemed to be on her side. She was able to have her body replaced with metal in order to stay alive. Of course, she took it and become a robotic bird. Once being turned into metal, something went wrong and it corrupted her. She became a cruel bird that tortured and tormented others for her own enjoyment. As some point in her life, the robotic bird grew to hate the young kitsu for reasons only she herself would know of. Then again, she grew to hate everyone and everything on the planet after she became a cold, heartless, machine.

Kamika tried to stop her and put an end to all her craziness. The two fought and she lost to the young vulpine. However, she swore it wasn’t going to be the last time the two met like that. And it wasn’t. It happened quite often the bird and fox would fight each other; good against evil. Every time kitsu won.

After that, she lived on for many years, her robotic body allowing her to do so. She started to hatch a plan. A plan to cause utter chaos around the whole world. She took the orbs, giving them two five different others. They each went to different parts of the world, causing it to fall into chaos and disorder. She then took to the skies, watching everything from the shadows, waiting.

Other Info: Her name didn’t start out being Metalbeak. It only became that after she became robotic. No one knows her real name though. Whenever she speaks, her eyes light up.

Appearance:

Orb: Earth

Personality: She takes pride in her evil and ability to control the dead; and loves dispensing misery from her island by sending her ghosts and other oni to far away lands to bring great misfortune and pestilence upon helpless villages. The Orb of Earth only adds onto her powers of control over the elements. Takiyasha won't have her orb taken away from her and will send all of her ghostly and demonic forces to try and stop the heroes from getting their hands on it.

History: There once was a tiny island that was very prosperous. For generations the island's prosperity was thanks in part to a powerful orb; one of the Five Orbs of Japan that brought balance and polarity to the nations around her. The ruling family of this island gave birth to a beautiful baby girl and were sure she was destined to continue lead this island's destiny towards peace and prosperity. 

But as she matured to a ripe age of sixteen; something happened. Her tail split into two ends and she gained supernatural powers. She could talk to ghosts and other spirits; which caused the people to fear her immensely and accuse her of being a witch. This loss of respect and rejection soon filled her with great anger and hatred. Eventually even her parents feared her and tried to banish her.

This only angered her further. As a result of evil influences; the princess of the ruling family conjured the evil spirits and oni to take over the island for her. Once all the living inhabitants were killed, they turned into ghosts to which they fell under her control. As for her parents, she banished their souls to the netherworld as she never wanted to see the magain; not even as her servants bowing at her feet.

She also took control of the orb; The Orb of Earth that controlled her island. And under her evil influences the orb's luscious life giving powers changed into decay. The luscious island turned to rot; as did her castle and the seas around her.

The island became shrouded in an evil mist to which the spirits took an immediate liking to. This once prosperous island soon took on a new name: Shiniruku. And the princess who was simply known as Taki was now known as Takiyasha due to her witch-like powers to conjur spirits.

(Deep backstories are a lot of fun to write. XD. I'm glad you like her though. To be honest, she's my favorite villain as well.)

"Haruka! I'm not telling you to get up again!" My mom was trying to get me up early. On a Saturday. I hate having to get up early during the week, much less on a weekend. "Uugh, Mom, just let me stay in bed a little longer..." I cried back to Mom. "For heaven's sake, Haruka, it's nine in the morning!" she called. "Nine in the morning!?" I cried. I got out of bed as quickly as I could.

Also, -smol gasp- You use POV in RPs too? Like, holy StarClan, same? Well, sometimes. I know a lot of people don't like that, but I think it's fun? 'Cause you can really get a feel of a character that way, you know?)

Sighing, I glanced up at the sky, watching as the big, fluffy white clouds floated by in the wind. It was a normal day. A slow one though. But normal nonetheless. With another little sigh, I hopped down from the tree I was resting in and crept off into town in search of something to eat like normal.

I ran up the stairs that led to the kitchen from the jail cell that was my bedroom. Upon getting to the table, I found only a plate with 3 pancakes and a lot of syrup on it. My favorite! Thanks mom! I thought rather quickly. I sat down and began to eat quietly, not noticing my mom come upstairs with my sister. I had already finished eating by the time the clock said 11:30. I wanted to tell mom that I would be leaving forever, but I managed to resist the urge to tell her now.

(Nah, it's fine, no worries! ^^.

That makes sense. I do POV depending on how I'm feeling to be honest with you.

Also, how do you like the new background? I think it's a bit more easy on the eyes unlike the last one.)

Everything seemed to be going fine. I was able to sneak some food and fill my hunger somewhat. For the time being anyway. It was better than nothing at all. There was even something going on between the Shogun and a large robotic looking bird that looked like it had just crawled out of Hell. I had to strain my ears to try and hear what they said, but it seemed like they were talking about some sort of orb. What did that mean? Why were they talking about some kind of orb? Void.. Orb? Was that it? I think it was. It was really confusing.

I crept away, hopefully not being seen. I had gotten what I originally came for anyway. No need to stick around and draw attention to myself. That was the last thing I wanted to do at the moment. So far, the day was going better then it normally did and to that, I was thankful for. It didn't last very long sadly. Five older foxes were coming to deal pain to me like normal. I winced at the sight. I couldn't exactly fight anyone. That was my guardian's job. So I took the other choice and went to flee before the others spotted me. Hopefully.

"Little Decha!" Three more cut off my escape. 

"Other way! Or release me to cleave off their heads! It's been a while since I did a decent execution." That was a downside of my guardian. He had a habit of going and killing people that wanted to do me harm. I had been working on teaching the other fox that doing such things weren't allowed anymore unless done by the law itself or defending yourself. But who would think a little fox like myself could take on vulpine that were much larger and tougher?

At this, I quickly spun around and tried to head off the other way, hoping to escape them. That's against the law these days, Kearn.


"Niles, Niles, Niles!" The leader, Slait, a black and brown fox which was bigger than most crackled his knuckles. "When will you learn?"


I swallowed fearfully and folded my ears back at the sight of the black-and-brown fox. I took a step back, away from the other vulpine.


"Oh yesssss. Your time is up, Decha. You are ours now."


My eyes widened at the news. "W-What?"



"You heard me! We own you now," Slait chuckled. "So do us a favor, and don't try to run."

"Let me out! Come on soldier! We won't be taken easily!"

The large bully and the other foxes were closing on me. They were cutting off my chances of escaping from them. At this point, there was none. I was doomed. I didn't want to risk letting Kearn out and harming the older children that surrounded me. I know the fox spirit would kill them if I let him out. I didn't want blood on my hands. I'd get into trouble! But what else could I do?

After I finished up my pancakes, I had to tell my mom and my sister about this whole leaving forever thing.

"I... I have decided that today, I will be leaving this house to find out why the people have been acting crazy lately. I do not know when I'll be back, but Mom, I will probably be sending pics of where I am at that moment. And Chiemi, please don't break any of my stuff. Okay?"

I felt kind of proud with that statement, and it showed my longing to leave the house. I then gathered a few things in my bag and left, closing the door behind me.

(It fit more with the winter-theme of and all that, but I felt like the bright blue background was a bit harsh on the eyes. But I'm glad you like this one too. ^^.

It was a close get away. A very close one. But I escaped without harm or having to let my friend out. I sat down and rested up against the back of a tree, trying to catch my breath. Slait and his friends meant busy this time around. I was lucky to have gotten away without a scratch on me.

My mind wondered back to what the Shogun and weird bird-looking thing had talked about. About that orb thing. What was that about? Sure I heard stories of odd orbs that kept balance over the world, but that was just an old legend, wasn't it? It couldn't possibly be real, could it?

"I can tell you right now little one, that the legend is in fact real."

Giving a startled yelp, I turned my gaze towards the voice. Standing a few feet away was an old looking cat. The she-cat had gray fur that was turning white around her muzzle due to her old age. She had a walking stick with her and kind green eyes.

"Who are you? And what do you mean?"

"You can call me Mistrain. I'm here to tell you that you are to go on a journey, one that will ever save the world, or destroy it."

"What?"


"The orbs of legend are not just that my boy, they are in fact, real as you and I. And we need to get them back. The Void Orb is currently with the Shogun. Haven't you noticed how odd he's been acting lately? More darker...? That is the power of the purple orb. But you can't go and get it. Not yet, for if you try, it will curroupt you just as it did him. You must go and get the other four first. They're scattered all across the world. You can go after which one you want to first. This quest will not be an answer one. It will be filled with many dangers. You'll make both friends and enemies who are also after the orbs. Be careful of who you trust. You never know what could happen. Good luck."

With that, the she-cat disappeared, leaving me alone once more.

After some packing, I was ready to set out for the adventure of my life. I had set out to find these "Five Orbs" that people were talking about.

Apparently, they had been stolen and made the world balance go out of whack. There was a Fire Orb, and that made lots of Volcanoes erupt everywhere when it was stolen. There were also orbs for Water, Earth, Void, and one other one that I could not remember off the top of my head... Oh wait, it was Wind. Apparently they also said that the Void Orb, that little purple ball, is still in Japan, but I probably should not go for it right now, even though I want to.

I decided that I should just go for the Wind Orb first.

After the cat left, I was on my own once more. Apart from Kearn of course. He was still there considering he never left my side since we were well... attached to each other. It was rather difficult to explain. I didn't even fully understand it myself. I was still trying to wrap my head around what I was told. The five orbs were real? And I had to go and get them back? It was a lot to take in. Why me? Why not someone else? I was only a mere mutant freak fox. What did that old cat see in me?
